Rubber Roll

In the steel production process, various rolls are core equipment in key links such as steel rolling and continuous casting, directly affecting steel quality, production efficiency, and equipment service life.

• Core Function

Using the elasticity and friction of rubber, it plays a role in clamping, guiding, squeezing, or buffering in auxiliary processes such as conveying, straightening, and cleaning, avoiding damage to the steel strip surface due to hard contact.

• Application 

Steel strip conveying roller tables (clamping steel strips to avoid deviation), squeeze rolls in cleaning units (removing surface moisture), auxiliary supporting rolls in straightening machines (buffering pressure), etc.

Mainly used in the production of thin sheets and coated sheets with high surface quality requirements, avoiding scratches caused by direct contact with metal rolls.

Working Environment

Wide temperature range (normal temperature to around 100°C; special rubber types can withstand higher temperatures), and may come into contact with water, emulsion, or cleaning agents.

Subject to medium pressure, requiring aging resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and elastic recovery ability.

Material Characteristics

Rubber types: Selected according to working conditions, such as nitrile rubber (oil-resistant), EPDM (water-resistant, aging-resistant), silicone rubber (high-temperature resistant), etc.

Hardness control: Shore A hardness is usually 60~90 degrees. The lower the hardness, the better the elasticity, suitable for protecting thin steel strips; the higher the hardness, the stronger the wear resistance.
