In the steel production process, various rolls are core equipment in key links such as steel rolling and continuous casting, directly affecting steel quality, production efficiency, and equipment service life.


  • Core Function

Mainly used in cold rolling, tempering, and finishing processes, it controls the thickness, flatness, and surface quality of the steel strip through high-precision roll surfaces, while using the hardness and wear resistance of the chrome plating to extend the roll life.

  • Application 

Work rolls of cold rolling mills, temper mill rolls, skin pass rolls after galvanizing, etc.

Used in processes requiring high-precision control of steel strip surface quality (such as automotive sheets and home appliance sheets production). The chrome plating can reduce roll surface wear and extend the roll change cycle.


Working Environment

Normal or medium temperature (50~200°C), subject to high rolling force from the steel strip (up to hundreds of tons) and high-speed friction (linear speed up to over 2000 meters per minute).

In contact with the cold-rolled steel strip surface, it must avoid scratching or steel adhesion on the roll surface.

Material Characteristics

Substrate material: High-quality forged steel (such as 42CrMo, 50CrNiMo) to ensure high strength and bending resistance.

Surface treatment: The chrome plating thickness is usually 0.05~0.15mm, with a hardness of up to HV800~1000, featuring strong wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and smoothness (Ra≤0.1μm).
