Sinker Roll

In the steel production process, various rolls are core equipment in key links such as steel rolling and continuous casting, directly affecting steel quality, production efficiency, and equipment service life.

• Core Function

Used in continuous hot-dip galvanizing production lines, it is submerged in molten zinc (or zinc-aluminum alloy) to guide the steel strip into the zinc bath and change its running direction, ensuring uniform galvanizing on the steel strip surface.

•  Application 

Limited to continuous hot-dip galvanizing units (such as galvanized sheets and galvanized steel strips production), it is a key component to ensure the uniformity of the galvanized layer and needs to be replaced regularly to avoid steel strip defects caused by corrosion and wear.

Working Environment

Long-term immersion in molten zinc at 450~500°C, subject to high-temperature corrosion, zinc liquid scouring, and friction from the steel strip.

Under the tension of the steel strip, it must withstand a certain amount of torque and bending stress.

Material Characteristics

Main material: High nickel-chromium alloys (such as Ni-Cr-Mo alloys, 310S stainless steel) are mostly used, or the substrate surface is sprayed with ceramic coatings (such as Al₂O₃-TiO₂) to resist zinc liquid corrosion and high-temperature oxidation.

Roll surface requirements: Smooth and wear-resistant to avoid scratching the steel strip surface and reduce zinc dross adhesion.
