The Safeset Coupling is a torque-limiting safety coupling equipped with a hydraulic torque mechanism. Its release torque can be adjusted to the desired value by modifying the hydraulic pressure. Once the torque exceeds the preset level, the coupling will slip, thereby limiting the torque transmission.
Constructed with inner and outer sleeves, the Safeset coupling features end-welded assemblies that form a double-walled sleeve structure. After machining the required pressurization ports and shear tube openings, this sleeve can be oil-pressurized up to 1,000 bar (equivalent to 14,500 psi). The shear tube and its matching seat are designed to ensure a reliably sealed system. The number and size of shear tubes used are determined by the specifications of the Safeset torque-limiting coupling.
