The polygonal rubber coupling is made of rubber, and its elastic part has a rounded hexagonal or octagonal cross section, and each part is embedded with a sleeve bonded to the rubber after vulcanization. Through 6 or 8 bolts passing through the sleeve, it is staggered and connected with the half-coupling flange on the driven end, forming its unique structure.
This elastic coupling has a simple structure, does not require lubrication, is easy to assemble and disassemble, and has many excellent properties: it can alleviate the torsional vibration and impact load of the transmission shaft system, prevent the resonance of the transmission shaft system, and compensate for the relative offset of the two axes. It is suitable for scenes with medium torque (50mm-8000mm) and plays an important role in light industry, construction machinery, mining machinery and other industries.
The polygonal flexible rubber coupling has strong adaptability to the working environment and can work normally in an environment with dust and moisture. The working temperature range is minus 30℃-60℃, especially in the connection of vibrating screens, the effect is remarkable. However, there is no room for adjustment during connection and operation for the non-concentricity between the pump shaft and the power machine shaft, so it has high requirements for installation accuracy and is mostly used in vertical equipment.
In terms of installation details, the plane gap between the two half couplings must be controlled at 2.2~4.2mm. When the temperature is high, the gap should be 1.55~2.05mm larger than the shaft drift; the coupling rubber elastic ring should be 0.15~0.35mm smaller than the perforation diameter. At the same time, special tools must be used during disassembly and assembly to keep the parts smooth and clean, and no bumps or scratches are allowed to ensure their normal operation and service life.
