As an important component in mechanical transmission, the lubrication effect of the gear coupling directly affects the service life and transmission efficiency. After assembly, it is necessary to ensure that the spline pair slides freely and the joint rotates flexibly. The surface treatment and packaging must also be standardized. And the scientific lubrication method is the key to ensuring its performance. The following is a detailed analysis of the three lubrication methods of the gear coupling:
I. Gravity Lubrication
This method injects lubricating oil through a nozzle, flows through the gear side clearance and flows out from the small hole of the sleeve. Its core function is to cool the tooth surface, but it is difficult to form a stable oil film, so the tooth surface wears relatively quickly. This lubrication method has a simple structure and is suitable for light loads, low speeds and low lubrication requirements.
II. Pressure Jet Lubrication
The lubricating oil is sprayed from the small holes at the bottom of the gear teeth and enters the meshing surface under the action of centrifugal force. It can both lubricate and cool. The oil flows out from both sides of the tooth after passing through the meshing surface. In this way, the oil flow circulates continuously, which can remove impurities, and the injected lubricating oil forms pressure under the action of centrifugal force, which can effectively enter the gear tooth meshing surface, with excellent lubrication and cooling effects, which is very suitable for heavy-load and high-speed working environments.
III. Oil Storage Lubrication
After the lubricating oil is injected from the nozzle, a stable lubricating oil layer is formed on the outer circle of the gear due to the centrifugal force during rotation. However, this method is prone to impurities remaining in the gear ring, and the oil flow heat dissipation effect is poor, which is only suitable for occasions with low power and low speed. In addition, there is a non-flowing oil storage lubrication method, that is, grease is injected into the interior and then sealed, which is also suitable for light-load and low-speed scenarios.
The tooth coupling has a symmetrical structure, and the drum-shaped tooth design of the external gear sleeve makes it have double joints and flexibility, which can adapt to large axis deviation angles and support thin oil or dry oil lubrication. Choosing a suitable lubrication method can reduce tooth surface wear, improve the transmission efficiency of its compact structure, and extend service life.
