How can fluid couplings improve efficiency and reduce the cost of machinery during use?

As a transmission device with liquid oil as the working medium, the hydraulic coupling realizes the mutual conversion of mechanical energy and liquid kinetic energy through the pump wheel and turbine, and connects the prime mover and the working machine to transmit power. It plays an important role in improving mechanical efficiency and reducing the cost of use, which is specifically reflected in the following points: 


I. Improving the Operating Efficiency of Equipment 


High-efficiency energy transmission: Under normal working conditions, the turbo coupling can achieve higher efficiency when the speed ratio reaches 0.95 or above. Some high-quality products such as Mingyu's hydraulic coupling can even improve efficiency by 30%. This process shortens the motor starting time and reduces the starting current, which means that less energy is needed to put the equipment into normal working state, reducing energy waste in the starting stage.


II. Reduce the Cost of Using Machinery


Reduce equipment loss and extend life: The "liquid connection" between the pump wheel and the turbine can greatly reduce the impact load on the input and output shafts, and reduce the loss of the motor and the working machine. Reduced equipment loss means a lower frequency of repair and replacement, which directly reduces maintenance costs. At the same time, the service life of the motor and the working mechanism is extended, reducing the investment in equipment renewal, especially for equipment in harsh working conditions such as coal mining machinery.


Save energy and resources: By improving efficiency and reducing startup energy consumption, the hydraulic coupling reduces the consumption of electricity and fuel. The accumulated energy-saving effect in long-term use is significant, which indirectly reduces the operating cost of the machinery. In addition, it extends the life of the entire mechanical system, reduces resource waste, meets the requirements of making the best use of everything, and effectively controls cost expenditures in many fields.
