How the coupling's hub and shaft are fixed together

Time : 2020-03-16    Browse : 16

The fixing method between the hub and the shaft of the coupling directly affects the stable operation of the equipment and needs to be selected according to actual needs. The following are several common fixing methods:

Setting screw fixing: The shaft is locked by two positioning screws with a 90° gap, which is a traditional fixing method. However, since the front end of the screw is in direct contact with the axis, it may cause damage to the axis, and it is easy to be difficult to disassemble. It is suitable for scenes with low requirements for axis damage and small torque.

Clamping screw fixing: The force generated by tightening the hexagon socket bolt shrinks the slit, thereby tightly clamping the axis. This method is convenient for fixing and disassembly, and will not cause damage to the axis. It is widely used and is more common in the transmission connection of various small and medium-sized equipment.

Keyway type fixing: suitable for high torque transmission scenarios. In order to prevent axial sliding, it is usually used in conjunction with positioning screw fixing or clamping screw fixing. The torque is transmitted through the cooperation of key and keyway, which can effectively improve the stability and reliability of transmission.

D-hole fixation: When the motor shaft is D-shaped and the positioning screw cannot be effectively fixed, the hole of the coupling can be processed into a D-shaped hole corresponding to the size of the motor shaft, and then fixed with the positioning screw, which can effectively prevent slipping and ensure the transmission effect. It is suitable for connections with motor shafts of special shapes.

Expansion sleeve fixation: By tightening the four positioning screws on the end face of the coupling, the expansion sleeve is compressed to expand, thereby achieving expansion and fixing. This method is suitable for the connection and fixation of stepper motors and servo motors with large torque, such as expansion sleeves, expansion sleeve plum couplings, expansion sleeve bellows couplings, etc., which can withstand large torque and are firmly fixed.

When choosing a suitable fixing method, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as torque size, shaft shape, disassembly convenience, and protection of the axis to ensure reliable connection between the coupling and the shaft.
