The installation quality of the disc coupling directly affects its performance and life. The following points should be paid attention to during the installation process:
First, ensure the concentricity of the two shafts. The concentricity of the two shafts must be strictly aligned during installation. This is the basis for ensuring the normal operation of the disc pack coupling. If the concentricity deviation is too large, it will cause uneven force on the disc, aggravate wear and even damage.
Before installation, check whether the lamine coupling is damaged during transportation. At the same time, during the installation process, the parts should be lifted or supported in a suitable manner to avoid deformation due to improper force. The surface of the coupling, especially the flange and the stopper, needs to be properly packaged and protected to prevent scratches and burrs, which will affect the installation accuracy and sealing performance. In addition, the outer surface of the disc group should be carefully observed. If there are defects such as bruises, cracks, excessive deformation, etc., they need to be replaced in time and cannot be used any more.
In the installation of the half-coupling (hub), different methods need to be adopted according to the type of shaft-hole fit: if it is a clearance fit, the half-coupling can be directly installed on the shaft, and tapped with a soft hammer to make it in place if necessary; if it is an interference fit, the half-coupling needs to be heated before installation. The distance that the half-coupling moves from the starting position to the working position is called the axial thrust value, and it must be ensured to meet the specified requirements during installation. Sometimes, in order to obtain the ideal interference value, the half-coupling can also be heated to achieve precise installation.
